It took me quite a while to get to sleep, it was surprisingly bright in there but it was warm enough- just! I woke up with ice all over my face from where I had pulled the balaclava over my nose during the night. Brrrr!

Still, it was an interesting experience! One of our fellow guests at the hotel told me over breakfast that he had needed a pee in the night and couldn’t be bothered to put on all his layers to walk across the compound to the toilets, so he just legged it in his PJs. Nice!

We flew back to Oslo that night, then caught an early flight back to the UK. My cough remained as a delightful reminder of our interesting, chilly travels for about another 2 weeks!
